Endodontics

The word ‘endodontics’ originates from the Greek roots endo- “inside” and odont- “tooth” and is the dental specialty concerned with the study and treatment of the dental pulp. Endodontists perform a variety of procedures.

We use new and advanced technology for Endodontic therapy. We have STA single tooth Anesthesia system, digital radiography, Operating microscopes, apex locators, etc. All these devices are important to root canal treatment.

Endodontic Procedures

Endodontic treatment is carried out by a dentist to save a tooth. It is required when there is an inflammation or infection of the pulp. The dentist will ensure you are comfortable during the procedure.

In some cases, after a tooth has undergone an Endodontic treatment, it fails to heal and it becomes painful or diseased months after the treatment. In such cases, an Endodontric retreatment is necessary to save the tooth.

Sometimes, a nonsurgical root canal procedure alone cannot save your tooth.  Your dentist can recommend Endodontic surgery.  It is a procedure used to locate small fractures or hidden canals that cannot be detected by x-rays. Traumatic dental injuries are common in children, but adults can also be affected.  The injuries can be as a result of an automobile accident, bad fall or altercation etc. We have qualified Endodontists who will take care of such injuries.

People develop cracked teeth as a result of crack inducing habits such as clenching, grinding and chewing on hard objects. Cracked teeth can be treated by extracting the tooth or using Endodontric treatment.

Root fracture is a dentin and cementum fracture involving the pulp.  It can be treated with a splint or root canal treatment.
